Gannon Buhr Remains at the top of the leader board for the MPO Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings. He has continued to dominate the MPO field, rarely finishing outside the top 10. The question is, how long will Gannon Buhr remain atop the leaderboard? Do I need to look at the equation and update it?
As mentioned above Gannon Buhr retains that number one spot in the Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings. Not to discredit the play of this talented young man but the formula looks like it needs to be tweaked as we look a little further down this power ranking and the high volatility.
Taking the second place spot and jumping two spots to do it, is Kyle Klein. His play over the last few weeks has steadily improved from his slow start to the beginning of the 2022 season.
Staying steady in the third spot is James Conrad. To date he does not have a win in the 2022 season but that will happen soon as the East Coast woods are appearing over the horizon.
Taking the fourth spot in this ranking is Paul McBeth. He continues to struggle this season with some mental blocks. We hope he figured them out soon and returns to that stellar McBeth we are used to watching.
How are the Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings determined? Unlike other disc golf power rankings, theses are based purely on math. There is no voting; no tweaking; no gut feelings; no manipulation.
To calculate the rankings, we look at the most recent eight Silver Series, Elite Series, and Majors. We do not factor in any other tournaments. The most recent three tournaments weigh the most overall in the calculations, while the last two weigh the least. Players who do not attend an event are assigned a certain number of points that substitute a finishing place. Rankings are updated after every DGPT/Major event.
