Another tournament completed and another week Catrina Allen Stays on top of the Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings. Consistent top level finishes keep her at the top of the field. Hailey King, who won USWDGC, is still not in the rankings but a good showing at Idlewild will propel her into the top 15.
How are the Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings determined? Unlike other disc golf power rankings, theses are based purely on math. There is no voting; no tweaking; no gut feelings; no manipulation.
To calculate the rankings, we look at the most recent eight Silver Series, Elite Series, and Majors. We do not factor in any other tournaments. The most recent three tournaments weigh the most overall in the calculations, while the last two weigh the least. Players who do not attend an event are assigned a certain number of points that substitute a finishing place. Rankings are updated after every DGPT/Major event.
Still at that number one spot is Catrina Allen. She continues her consistent play in the 2022 season finishing 4th at the USWDGC. While it wasn’t the finished she’d hoped for it was a solid performance in Madison, Wisconsin.
Taking back the number 2 position is Valeria Mandujano. She didn’t have the best start to the USWDGC tournament but according to one person on Twitter she had the longest birdie streak of any MPO or FPO play in the 2022 season as of USWDGC. We could not find any information to the contrary at the time of writing.
Bumping into the third place spot in the Joe’s Disc Golf Power Rankings is Missy Gannon. Taking a share of 10th place at USWDGC helped her jump up one spot. She continues to play well this season despite her only win so far being the Music City Open.
Dropping 2 spots to fourth place is Paige Pierce. I said it as the tournament was starting, that she would choke this one away and unfortunately I was right. She finished in 21st and did not look great playing USWDGC. Hopefully she can bounce back at Idlewild this upcoming weekend.
