DGPT 2022 Live Media Plan & Price Hike
On February 15th, 2022, the Disc Golf Pro Tour announced its live media plan and a price hike for the 2022 season. There are several additions to the subscription package and options to buy access to individual tournaments or rounds. The DGPT has listened to subscriber and potential subscriber feedback and are improving their product.

The DGPT 2022 Live Media Plan includes coverage of all Elite Series and Majors’ rounds. This includes the European Open and USDGC, which were formerly pay-per-view. Just like in 2021 the final round of all the Elite Series will simulcast on YouTube for free. Silver Series will have the final round broadcast provided the cell service is adequate to support the broadcast.

There is still a pay-per-view option for USDGC and the European open that includes exclusive post-produced coverage of the event. The post produced coverage is not available to DGN subscribers however, the post produced coverage will release on YouTube 30 days after the event ends.

As previously mentioned, there are options to watch individual rounds or specific tournaments without subscribing to DGN, for a price. Those who want to watch a specific round of a tournament can pay a starting price of $4.99 or you can pay a starting price of $9.99 for the entire tournament. Pricing will vary between tournaments depending on length. Longer tournaments like Worlds will cost more. Again if you only want to watch the final round of Elite Series will simulcast on YouTube. It appears that Majors will not broadcast on YouTube for free.

The Disc Golf Pro Tour has added several tournaments, majors, and new broadcast equipment. With that comes the need for more money. A Disc Golf Network subscription will now cost $11.99 per month; a 20% increase from 2022. While the annual play is increasing to .99; a 33% increase in price from 2022. For those Disc Golf Network Subscribers who paid for the basic USDGC coverage in 2021, this is a slight increase over that combined cost.

If you are a current PDGA member you will receive several bonuses with your member fee. You can receive a 50% discount to the monthly Disc Golf Network subscription. This is an increase of 20% to $5.99 per month. PDGA member can watch Las Vegas Challenge, Champions Cup, US Women’s Disc Golf Championship, the final two rounds of Pro Worlds, and the MVP Open for free.

At this time we still don’t know the points structure for the Disc Golf Pro Tour. We also don’t know the event schedule for the post production companies; notably Jomez. As that information become available, we will get it to you.
