Eveliina Salonen

nSitting in a solo fourth place is Eveliina Salonen (-12). Her game improved significantly from round one. She jumped up 20 points in her C1X putting to 70% in round two. She almost kept a clean card until hole 18 where she she went OB twice and took a 6, bogie, on the hole. She looked a lot more comfortable when she was on camera. Her -7 on the day was enough to get her the last spot on the lead card for round 3 tomorrow.n

Kristin Tattar

nKristin Tattar (-13) shares second place with Paige Pierce after round two. She managed to shoot a -7 with going OB twice and five total bogie strokes. She looked more comfortable on the tee compared to the first round. She figured out the issue of worm burning her disc that she had yesterday. Her C1X putting technically went down 10 points from 80% to 70% but her parked percentage went up 22 points from 17% to 39%. Overall, Tattar looked like the player we say during the 2021 Disc Golf Pro Tour season. If she can manage to play clean in round three, she can make a serious push for the lead.n

Paige Pierce

nThe other player sitting in a tie for second place is Paige Pierce (-13). Her theme for the round was one of uncertainty. The look on her face and the mannerisms here and there suggested a small crack in the confidence today. Maybe it was the wind or maybe it was Catrina Allen. But, Paige Pierce looked a bit off this round. She took 4 OB strokes (holes 3, 6, 7, & 13) and had 4 bogey strokes (holes 3, 6, 13, & 17). this is in sharp contrast to her bogey free and one OB stroke in round one. What killed her the most today was her C1X putting. In round one she managed 83% but round two her putting was at 40%. overall she lost 1.69 (nice) strokes to the field in putting. Though she made up 7.73 on the field from tee to green.n

Catrina Allen

nCatrina Allen (-19) managed to take a commanding lead on day two at the Las Vegas challenge. She threw the hot round at -11 on the day. She currently sits at -19 through day two. Her circle two putting was a mind boggling 40% with five attempts. Her C1X was 100%, again insane! She had 2 OB strokes but saved par on both of them (holes 10 & 18). Right now Allen is in the driver’s seat. She has a 6 stroke lead over second place Paige Pierce and Kristin Tattar. She’s going to look to build on that lead during round three. If she can continue to stay bogey free it’ll be tough for anyone to catch her.nnAn Honorable mention goes to Natalie Ryan who started out well but suffered a possible hamstring injury around the halfway mark. At this time she is listed as DNF and will not complete the rest of the tournament. Wishing her an all the FPO competitors a speedy recovery before tomorrow’s round.n

FPO coverage will start at 9am Pacific/Noon Eastern.
